A high-level tribunal should be formed to investigate all the incidents from the dark era of Zia till now - Shujaat Bukhari Whole nation is in deep sorrow on the continued terrorism in Quetta & Karachi; Punishment should be enforced for those who have relations with banned groups and are helping them Calling “non-Muslim” to the recognized schools of thought should be considered unlawful & punishable and the bill should be forwarded/debated in the National Assembly in this regard - Letter of the Additional Secretary General of TNFJ to the President & the Prime Minister of Pakistan RAWALPINDI, August 1: Additional secretary general of TNFJ Syed Shujaat Ali Bukhari has demanded to form a high level investigation tribunal to probe into all the mishaps from dark era of Zia till now and that the findings should be made public. In a letter to the President Asif Ali Zardari and the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, he said that if tribunals can be formed to investigate murder of a journalist and Abbottabad incident, then not forming a tribunal to investigate the killings of 35/40 thousand innocent people is a question mark. The nation also wants to know why anti-terrorism act is not acted upon. In his letter Shujaat Ali Bukhari showed great concern over the continuous terrorism which has been prolonged for last 30 years and is reaching sky – high; there is not a single day in which an incident has not taken place. He said that firing on pilgrims in Quetta on the previous day, killings as a result of terrorist attack on a passenger van after terrorism in Mustang and the continuous target killings in Karachi has left the whole nation in deep sorrow and grief. Shujaat Bukhari also emphasized that in its meeting last week, the TNFJ asked for security to remain on high alert before and during Ramadan and still these mishaps took place which are of great concern as well as condemnable. It is a heinous conspiracy being hatched by the enemies of Islam & Pakistan. He appealed for concrete steps to be taken to eradicate terrorism and that no one should be spared in this respect. He said that on the previous day during a peace rally, condemning of terrorist pockets by the ruling party and its allies within their circle was a good step in keeping with the Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi who has been saying for the last three decades that a terrorist has no religion, country or party he is only a terrorist. The secretary general of TNFJ shared his great concern over 26 banned groups who are working with new names and have been seen in press conferences with government and opposition leaders. They are occupying different forums and the media provides full coverage to them. The judiciary has released them due to loopholes in the law, therefore it should be ensured that peace opponents should be caught in solid traps and religious & political parties should denounce them. He said that it is necessary to probe into the governmental institutions and networks of black sheep within these departments should be dismantled who are supporting these banned groups. Keeping relations with banned group should be treated as an unlawful and punishable act. He said that Pakistan has played a role of front line state against international terrorism and itself faces terrorism due to some countries and international powers who do not want to see peace in the beloved motherland. This issue should therefore be taken to the UN, ICC and other international forums and the question of why Pakistan is being punished in spite of playing its role should be raised. Shujaat Bukhari mentioned that in some places victims of terrorism are provided with immediate relief and on other hand there is no one to look after those who are affected by target killings and firing incidents due to which thousands of women and children are left helpless, and without shelter or the capacity to feed their family. He demanded from the government to help all victims of Karachi and Quetta and compelled the government to debate a bill of coherence between different sects saying that a bill should be passed in which calling any recognized school of thought “a non-Muslim” should be considered a punishable crime. He raised the question that if Sunni is Kafir as well as Shia then who is Muslim? He demanded that a close eye be kept on the activities of all foreigners who are residing in motherland – and those found to be linked to terrorist activities should be expelled to their native countries. He said that it is a duty of the government to expose those countries and lobbies that are backing and financially helping terrorists and it should also protest on diplomatic level to these countries. Shujaat Bukhari also demanded that source of income and expenditure of all parties should be audited and said that TNFJ is ever ready to present itself for audit of its financial sources as well as expenditure. The general secretary of TNFJ expressed his grief over the mayhem which has become the norm in the aftermath of the tragedies of terrorism and those who are involved in these acts are surely not friends of Pakistan or its public, on the contrary they are the friends of terrorists who we condemn whole-heartedly. He said that on the basis of ideology we keep Pakistan dear and are always ready to join any platform for the establishment of stability, prosperity, defense and peace in the beloved motherland |
