A decision of imprisonment for three years for those who campaign for votes on the name of religion or sect is according to the wishes of the public – Mazhar Ali Shah

The results of announcing Pakistan a sectarian estate by Zia’s dictatorship are being faced by the public till this date; instead of the card of bias, the political parties should present themselves on front of the public with the record of serving Islam, Pakistan and its public – Address of the general secretary of the TNFJ to Iqbal Conference 

ISLAMABAD, April 21: The general secretary of the TNFJ, Syed Mazhar Ali Shah Advocate said that Allama Dr Mohammad Iqbal is that great leader who presented the concept of welfare estate in the form of Pakistan which was realized by the Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah; instead of the card of bias, the political parties should present themselves on front of the public with the record of serving Islam, Pakistan and its public. He expressed his views while addressing to Iqbal conference at Al Murtaza Hall Islamabad, which was organized by Mukhtar Students Organization Islamabad on the death anniversary of the poet of east Allama Mohammad Iqbal.

Mazhar Ali Shah made it clear that Islam and Pakistan can not be separated from each other because the ideological foundation of the beloved motherland are based on Islam but this does not mean any particular school of thought. He said that those who are asking for vote on the name of the religion and or a particular school of thought do not consider any one else Muslim apart of themselves. Under these circumstances, first time in the history of Pakistan, the election commission decided that those who ask for vote on the name of the religion or a particular school of thought will be put behind bars for three years, a decision which is according to the wishes of the public and will strengthen the basic ideology of Pakistan further. He said that the general Zia while deviating from the basic ideology of the motherland, announced Pakistan a sectarian estate the result of which public is facing till this date. He said that the constitution of Pakistan contain the definition of Islam and Muslim; according to which the source of Islam will be the Holy Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) – the clarification of which will be consider reliable that will be authentic to any school of thought and the Muslim is one which believes the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP), the last Prophet of Almighty Allah and keeps dear the dignity and respect of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP). He said that the way Pakistan can not be separated from Islam similarly the recognized schools of thought also are the strong hands of Islam; calling anyone of them non-Muslim should also be considered a punishable crime. 

Syed Mazhar Ali Shah reminded that the utmost desire of the Quaid and Iqbal was to establish justice and fair play in the motherland Pakistan; where the rights of all may be fulfilled on the basis of equality but it was a bad luck that not only the principles of Allama Iqbal and the Quaid e Azam were trampled over but their targets were also sabotaged because Pakistan got into the hands of those powers who were the enemy of its very being. Our archenemy, right from the very beginning, keep attacking us so much so that in 1971 Pakistan split into two which was greatly celebrated by Indra Gandhi who said that the concept of the Quaid e Azam has been drowned in the Bay of Bengal; her grandson Rahol Gandhi also boasted about the same tragedy. He said that the nation is day dreaming, selfishness is the norm; those who offered their blood and sacrificed everything are still deprived of their basic rights and are facing sense of denial in which the Maktab e Tasheyyo is included. He stressed that in order to put the motherland on the real path of democracy and to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare estate as per the desires of Iqbal and the Quaid e Azam, the rights of all the school of thoughts must be delivered, only then the dream of peace can be realized in the country. He said that it is the fortune of the Muslims of the sub continent that they hand a thinker like Allama Iqbal and it was the will of Almighty Allah that Allama Iqbal should be given a title the thinker of Pakistan (Mufakir e Pakistan). He said that in the poetry of Iqbal, wisdom has been directly aimed. His concept of democracy is according to the teachings of Islam in which he described democracy inline with the philosophy of newness and greatness. He wished to see every body with the sense of self-respect. In his writings he gave priority to the public and considered their voice the real spirit of democracy. 

On this occasion while addressing to the participants of the conference, the president of Mukhtar Students Organization, Saleem Bangash said that the concept of Iqbal in regards to democracy and a believer have connection with each other; his man with beliefs is in search of perfection. He said that in these times, to establish peace in the whole world and in order to root out terrorism, the oppressed and Muslim nations will have to get freedom from the clutches of the colonial powers and will have to make their own decisions. Farhan Abbas, Kirdar Ali, Raja Raza Ali, Haider Ali Awan, Mardan Ali Changezi, Dr Amad Jafferi, Amjad Ali Bangash and other speakers also addressed to the conference.
