A delegation of TNFJ called on the Federal Interior Minister; the delegation demanded that one-sided actions being taken by the Administration against the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo after Rawalpindi incident must be stopped forthwith ISLAMABAD, December 13: A delegation of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya led by Additional Secretary General Syed Shujaat Ali Bokhari called on Federal Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and demanded that one-sided actions being taken by the Administration against the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo after Rawalpindi incident may be stopped forthwith. They apprised the Minister that the Administration was forcibly taking statements from the innocent people just to cover up their failure that is the open violation of human rights by the police. The delegation demanded that all sensitive cities including Rawalpindi may be handed over to the army on the occasion of Chehlum of Syed-us-Shuhada. The other demands put up by the delegation include that mosques and Imambargahs damaged in the Rawalpindi incident may be reconstructed and taburrakaat may be restored, arms licences may be issued to the organisers of mosques and Imambargahs for security purposes, media trial of the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo may be stopped, steps may be taken to unveil the conspiracy behind the Rawalpindi incident, Maktab-e-Tasheyyo should not be pushed to the wall, banned parties should not be presented as representatives of any Makatib, restrictions may be imposed on religious and political parties and their leaders receiving foreign aid, arrest of innocent people may be stopped, action may be taken against the banned organisations, Fatawa-e-Kufr against recognised schools of thoughts may be stopped, all losses should be compensated, and this feeling should be removed that motherland Pakistan is a safe haven for terrorists. The Interior Minister assured the delegation to attend the concerns of the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo and to take action against those officers who were violating the dignity of chadar and chardivari. He also lauded the efforts being made by the Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi for restoration of peace for promoting national cohesion. The delegation apprised the Minister that even those people have been nominated in the incident who were not present in the procession, while those responsible for the incident were roaming about freely. They demanded that action may be taken against those banned organisations that are working with new names and independent probe may be initiated into the Rawalpindi incident. They said the investigation tribunal should comprise at least three judges, and declaring any recognised school of thought as atheist should be declared a cognizable offence. They said that the wrong use of loudspeakers should be stopped instead of putting a ban of its use, and all demands of the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo accepted in the light of May 21, 1985 agreement with the government should be fulfilled.
