The main purpose of fasting is to attain asceticism and godliness, which educate us patience, forbearance, tolerance and control on inner self (Nafs)

The objective of observing fast is worshiping Almighty ALLAH - Address of Allama Waqar Hussain Qumi on the topic “Fazail Mahe Syam” at ALI (PBUH) Masjid

RAWALPINDI, July 15: The religious lectures on the topic of the “Importance of the Holy Month of Ramzan” arranged under the auspice of Haeyate Tulbae e Islamia continued at Ali Masjid. Addressing on the occasion, Allama Syed Waqar Hussain Qumi said that Ramzan is the month of abstinence and seeking forgiveness. To attain asceticism and godliness is the main purpose of Fasting, which educate us patience, forbearance, tolerance and to control on our inner self (Nafs). He expressed his views that Ramzan enjoys the honour to be the month of Almighty Allah and it is blessed by seniority over all other months. He clarified that it is to avoid all those things from the dawn up to sunset, which may nullify the observation of fast. Ramzan also has superiority over other months in regards to reward, Almighty’s blessings and benevolence, in this month even our breath taking and sleep is also considered worship and the appraisal of our good deeds and prayers is guaranteed. He said fasting was also obligatory upon previous nations, religions and times as the Holy Quran witnesses, “O Faithfull’s fast is obligatory upon you as it was obligatory upon the previous ones so that you may be protected from bad deeds. He added that worshiping for Almighty ALLAH is the main motive of Fast.
