Attack on the Church in Peshawar is an attack on the Islamic teachings and Pakistan’s ideological basis – Hamid Moosavi

TNFJ announced the observation of three days of grief to express solidarity with the Christian community over the heavy loss of life in a result of suicide attack; Islam guarantees honour and dignity of non-Muslims and the white portion in the green Pakistan flag is the sign of respect for minorities; enemies of Pakistan are trying to sabotage Prime Minister’s visit to America and thus trying to weaken the Drone attacks’ case of Pakistan at the Security Council; had the rulers and politicians implemented the Anti-Terrorism laws without considering the personal and party interests then such types of gory incidents could have been avoided; continuous terrorism despite holding of APC is a food for thought; every citizen of the motherland and Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh Jafariya equally share the grief of the Christian community – reaction of the Quaid e Millat e Jafariya on the incident of church in Peshawar

ISLAMABAD, September 23: The Patron-in-Chief of Supreme Shia Ulema Board Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has strongly condemned the suicide blast and heavy toll and loss at Pakistan Church Peshawar and announced a three-day mourning to express solidarity with Christian community. In his reaction issued from the headquarters of the Maktab-e-Tasheyyo, he said Islam guarantees honour and dignity of non-Muslims and the white portion in the green Pakistan flag is the sign of respect for minorities. He said attack on the Christian place of worship is actually an attack on the Islamic teachings and Pakistan’s ideological basis as powers averse to Pakistan are trying to sabotage Prime Minister’s visit to America by trying to prove that non-Muslim are unsafe in Pakistan and thus trying to weaken the Drone attacks’ case of Pakistan at the Security Council. The enemy is playing every game here and had the rulers and politicians implemented the Anti-Terrorism laws without considering the personal and party interests then such types of gory incidents could have been avoided.

Agha Moosavi said every citizen of the motherland and Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh Jafariya equally share the grief of the Christian community because as per the teachings of Islam every human being has been made respectable. He said the Peshawar Church incidents is a conspiracy to pass the message to the international world that Pakistan is an unsafe State where there is no writ of the government because mosques, Imam Bargahs, churches, educational institutions, hospitals, temples, markets, funeral processions and even the security institutions have been targeted.

The TNFJ chief said that in response to peace-loving decisions of the APC held on the invitation of the Prime Minister, the innocent citizens are being made target of day-light suicide attacks, kidnapping, and target killings that provides food for thought. He said the whole nation makes a heartfelt appeal to the powers that be not to delay action against the black monster of terrorism, the Prime Minister by raising the issue of terrorism in his address to the United Nations General Assembly should tell them that foreign agencies are involved in continued aggression against Pakistan, therefore concrete steps may be taken to check terrorism because if Pakistan is there, we are here otherwise we are nothing.

Agha Moosavi while highlighting the rights of the non-Muslims in the Islamic society said that Quran gives commandment not to give up justice on the basis of enmity with any nation rather orders to ensure justice to them because it is the justice that is most near to piety. He said there is a saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) that goes that Islam guarantees rights of non-Muslims. Another place, the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) has said that keep in mind that any Muslim who encroaches upon the rights of any non-Muslim or commits atrocity against him, puts extra responsibility on him or snatches anything from him, I will stand in the Court of Allah as a lawyer of that non-Muslim against such Muslims.

The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said the protection of citizens is the responsibility of the Islamic government, and there is no discrimination in it on the basis of Muslim or non-Muslim. Similarly the protection of life and property of non-Muslims is also the responsibility of the Muslim States. He said Islam declares insult, bashing, illegal murder and calling names of non-Muslim and provides protection to their economic rights, they can adopt any profession they like and they are allowed religious freedom to perform their rites, obligations and relations independently. Moreover, the State is also under the obligation to honour the agreements made to them, he concluded.

(PBUH & HHP): Peace be upon him and on his holy progeny

(PBUH): Peace be upon him/her

(PBUT): Peace be upon them
