The veto power of super powers should be done away with so as to restore international peace and make the United Nations effective - Hamid Moosavi

ISLAMABAD, January 1: The Patron-in-Chief of Supreme Shia Ulema Board and chief of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has said that the veto power of super powers should be done away with so as to restore international peace and make the United Nations effective. The veto power of five states in the Security Council is the basic cause of ongoing wars throughout the world and is a license for powerful states to crush the weak nations and is therefore promoting terrorism. The Hippocratic role of some Arab states have made the OIC summit against declaring Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the Israeli capital ineffective and the statement given by Erdogan provides food for thought. Muslim rulers should keep in mind that their survival lays not in extending the begging bowl to America rather in mutual unity. Muslim rulers should stop interfering in brother Muslim states. The personality of Hazrat Fatima Masooma-e-Qum (S.A.) is the centre of guidance, spirituality, knowledge and wisdom. The teachings and seerat of this great personality of the Khandan-e-Risalat (SAAW) is enlightening the darkness created by debauchery and misguidance even today. These views were expressed by him by him while addressing Azadaran on the occasion of country-wide Ayyam-e-Aza being observed in connection with the Wisaal of Kareema-e-Ahle Bait Hazrat Fatima Masooma-e-Qum Binte Imam Musa Kazim (S.A.).

Agha Moosavi said the objective of creating the United Nations was to save the world from the war flames, reduce threats to international peace, resolve international conflicts on the basis of equality, respect the freedom and autonomy of nations, creating relations amongst states on the basis of equality, avoiding interference in the internal affairs of other countries, increasing international cooperation for resolving economic and political issues of the world, and respecting the human rights and independence without any discrimination on the basis of colour, language and creed. But, he added, the United Nations is unable to implement its targets to-date and there is contradiction in its steps. He said whenever steps are being suggested for restoration of peace and tranquility and to reduce threats to the international peace, the super powers veto these in their own interest and these steps remain the same while new conflicts come to the fore. He said the fresh example of it is vetoing the resolution unanimously adopted by 14 members of the Security Council against American declaration to consider Jerusalem as Israeli capital.

The TNFJ chief said that although the General Assembly rejected the American step by majority 128 votes against 9 but America remained unmoved. He said earlier Burmese government remained unmoved on the adopted of resolution against atrocities being committed against Rohingya Muslims with majority 122 votes. He said the United Nations has delivered nothing during the last 72 years except playing the role of a slave to the United States and particularly kept a Hippocratic attitude against Muslims; and never remained serious in getting her resolutions on Kashmir and Palestine implemented. But on the other hand, he added, they did not delay the right of self-determination in East Timor Sudan. Such duplicity in its policies create riot in the world, he said.

The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said that Hazrat Fatima Masooma-e-Qum was brought up in such a home that was enlightened by wealth of Illahi secrets, knowledge and wisdom. She achieved great stages of knowledge and wisdom by remaining with her father Imam Musa Kazim (A.S.) and brother Imam Musa Raza (A.S.) so much so that she used to answer issues confronted by people in the absence of her father and brother. She used to deliver lectures on Quran and Hadees to women of Madina and apprise them of the teachings of her forefathers and Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAAW) in addition to giving Tafseer of Quran. The spiritual benefits of the Masooma (S.A.) are still being delivered. Mullah Sadar Shirazi says that whenever he confronted and issue viz. knowledge, he used to go for Ziarat of Hazrat Masooma (S.A.) and his problems used to be resolved by doing so. Qum is situated in Iran and the shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masooma-e-Qum (S.A.) is from amongst those places of the world where Zaireen visit in highest numbers. Agha Moosavi demanded from the OIC to take steps to disseminate the character, seerat and teachings of the Mashaheer-e-Islam.
