Death term for former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf is the result of pressure - Hamid Moosavi

ISLAMABAD, December 17: The Patron-in-Chief of the Supreme Shia Ulema Board and Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has said that announcement of death term for former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf is the result of pressure on the basis of a few things. The legal experts and analysts are unanimous in their views that there is legal flaw in the decision about Musharraf. The decision of slapping death sentence on Pervez Musharraf in the present critical circumstances is a heinous conspiracy to demoralize the Pakistan’s armed forces who are in war conditions. If punishment for breaking the law is death sentence then what has been done so far for those who broke the country. These views were expressed by him while addressing the meeting of the TNFJ high command, here Wednesday.

Agha Moosavi said that if such a big punishment is for breaking the constitution then this job should have been carried out from Ayub Khan, while tyrant ruler Gen Zia inflicted tyranny in the country for 11 years and broke the constitution completely and owing to his black deeds Pakistan was gifted with terrorism, heroin and Kalashnikov culture. He said politicians were behind the four martial laws imposed on the motherland. Had they followed the constitution and had given priority to national interests instead of their personal interests and did not obeyed those who keep self-interest then nation would not had to face tyranny and black nights, he added. He said that some particular English slave families looted Pakistan with both hands causing immense damage to the country.

The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi expressed concern that the decision against General Pervez Musharraf has been taken at a critical time when Pakistan is surrounded by threats from all around; Indian provocation at our frontiers is the order of the day, Occupied Kashmir has been merged into India, Modi has hit the Muslims hard through the controversial Citizenship Bill, and Indian Muslims have been pushed to the wall. In these circumstances, he said, the justice demands that the whole nation including legislature, executive and judiciary should stand behind the Pakistan’s Armed Forces so as to prove on the enemy that we all are one and are a concrete wall against India.
