The State is not responsible for poor person’s Hajj but to provide basic needs to such persons - Hamid Moosavi

ISLAMABAD, February 3: The Patron-in-Chief of Supreme Shia Ulema Board and chief of the Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has said that the State is not responsible for poor person’s Hajj but to provide help to such persons. There is no room for any relaxation or subsidy for performance of Hajj in Islam. Allah Has made Hajj obligatory only for those who can personally afford it that is why we had rejected the offer of Hajj on government expense made by former caretaker prime minister Balakh Sher Mazari saying we are not in a position to afford Hajj. Performing Hajj on government expense, Council of Islamic Ideology and Ruet-e-Hilal committees are being used as political bribe. He expressed these views while addressing ulema and Azadaran in connection with the Ashra Aza-e-Fatmiya.

Agha Moosavi said rulers should provide constructed houses to the poor before razing their homes to ground. He said those who are actively involved in razing the encroachments to ground have become aloof of the activities of the banned organisations. We have inherited the habit of saying Kalma-e-Haq against oppression and brutality in eras laced with violence from our grandmother Khatoon-e-Jannat Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A.). We are not subservient to rulers or politicians but are faithful to the religion and the motherland Pakistan and would never hesitate in saying Kalma-e-Haq even on the point of the spear.

The TNFJ chief said that Allah Has declared Khana Ka’aba as Qibla and first home for people, and blessing for humanity, and the source of guidance for people. The Khana Khuda is the place of peace and symbol of Khaleel-e-Khuda, Parcham of Islam. For the one for whom the Hajj is obligatory the Bait Allah is the source of staying for people, a symbol of unity and brotherhood, source of achievement, place extending promise of sincerity, keeping the world away from evils, and is the best place for trust in God. Hajj Bait Allah is obligatory once in life time for a person who is adult, wise and is not forced for such a work for going to Hajj the importance of which is more important in religion and Shariat than Hajj or he has to give up such an activity that is most important than Hajj. The last condition is ‘Mustateeh’ for performing the obligation of Hajj, he added.

Agha Moosavi said that the following are included in the conditions to bear the Hajj Bait Allah: (1) He may have expenses and those things with him that are necessary for Hajj travel according to his/her capacity to afford. Moreover the source of travelling i.e. transport or so much funds that can be enough for his/her travel; (2) His body condition is accurate and he has the power to carry out necessary rites during the Hajj; (3) There is no hurdle in the way to and back, if the way is blocked or there is any fear that may threaten his life, wealth, honour or chastity, then Hajj will not be an obligation for him but if he can go through any diverted route, although it is farther, and there is not much pain or extraordinary loss, then it is necessary that he may adopt the other path for performing Hajj; (4) He has correct and enough time to carry out Hajj rites; (5) He keeps the expenses for those to whom he feeds i.e. his wife and children and such persons who are dependent on him; (6) There may have business, tilling or ownership benefits or any other source for leading his life on return from Hajj so that he may not be forced to lead his life with hardship.

The TNFJ chief said that according to a saying of the Masoom (A.S.), Allah by setting the Hajj obligation Has awarded such a gift that comprises Bandagi, religious subservience, worldly achievements and benefits, therefore, it is obligatory for those who can afford it so that they may perform it with full attention to Zaat-e-Khudawandi with sincerity of purpose because performing Hajj and Umrah is a source of blessing and avoiding to perform these is the cause of destructive and fatal. He said those who do not fulfil the conditions of bearing the Hajj there is no bar on them.

The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi while stating the dignity and supremacy of Khatoon-e-Jannat Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A.) said that Islam has declared Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A.) is the Sardar of women at large and with her blessings those women who were suffering with humiliation and defame were given honour and greatness. The respect and honour given to Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A.) brought a revolution in the Arab society that was replete with incidents where daughters were buried alive on their birth. The Sardar-ul-Anbia Hazrat Muhammad (SAAW) used to stand up to welcome his daughter and never sat unless the Khatoon-e-Jannat used to take a seat. He made it clear that the biggest supporter of women’s honour and dignity was Binte Rasool Hazrat Fatima Zehra (S.A.) and the women at large can achieve success here and Hereafter by following her pious Seerat.
