South Asia cannot be turned into a hub of peace unless the Kashmir issue is resolved in the light of UN resolutions keeping to the desires of Kashmiri people - Hamid Moosavi

ISLAMABAD, February 6: The Patron-in-Chief of the Supreme Shia Ulema Board and Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has said that the conscious human beings would like to make it clear on the international organisations by supporting Kashmir on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 that South Asia cannot be turned into a hub of peace unless the Kashmir issue is resolved in the light of United Nations Resolutions keeping to the desires of Kashmiri people. This region will remain on fire till the Kashmiris are given the right to self-determination. These views were expressed by him while talking to TNFJ Kashmir Committee office-bearers here Wednesday.

            Agha Moosavi said the Hippocratic attitude of the United Nations is a punishment for Kashmiris being Muslims because the right of self-determination has been given in East Timor and Southern Sudan while not giving this right to Kashmiris is a failure on the part of the United Nations as it has not yet taken any big step against India and is looking at the atrocities being committed by India on them as a silent spectator. He said Kashmiris are besieged by Hindu goons for the last six months and their voice is being heavily suppressed. He said the United Nations is banking merely on statements while even OIC which after the United Nations is the biggest organisation of Muslim could not play any important role in this connection. Pakistan is also limited herself to mere statements. He called upon the government to raise Kashmir issue at every fora and should send delegations comprising Treasury and Opposition members to different countries instead of pulling legs of each other. He said all sections of society should keep in mind that the morale of Kashmiris are higher than Himalayas and their men, women, jawans and children are out to achieve their right for self-determination by violating heavy curfew. He said they are demanding independence by risking their lives by taking out funeral processions of Shuhada and no satanic powers of the world could keep them quiet.

            The TNFJ chief said that Kashmiri people had started their struggle for their right to self-determination to get rid of Dogra Maharaja’s tyrant government in 1931 because the Quaid-i-Azam had declared Kashmir as their jugular vein but contrary to that English imposed Hindu Bunya on a big portion of Kashmir after which Nehru took the Kashmir issue to the United Nations; by doing this India not only recognized the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination but also promised to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination on January, 1949 saying that soon after situation becomes normal they will prove by carrying out self-determination in Kashmir that India is a democratic state and Kashmiris would decide themselves whether they desire to live with Pakistan or India or as a separate entity. He lamented that India violated her promise and the United Nations could not get her Resolutions implemented despite passage of more than 75 years.

            Agha Moosavi said that owing to insensitivity of the international organisations, Kashmiris filled a new colour in their independence movement which was further strengthened in 2016 as a result of which colonial powers and India become afraid. He said India has increased the presence of their troops in the Held Kashmir immensely, massacre of unarmed Kashmiris is on its height, the homes of Kashmiris are being set on fire, thousands of Kashmiris have been martyred and put in mass graves, thousands have been put in unknown graveyards, a large number of them is jailed but all Indian tactics against Kashmiris failed as a result of which Kashmiris have been pushed to the stone age by besieging them through lakhs of Indian troops.

            The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said that the geographical status of Kashmir has been changed using Article 370 and 35A so as to devour the Held Valley. He said India is hatching conspiracy to separate Laddakh from Kashmir and make it a part of Indian Union so as to tear the Kashmiris’ oneness apart with the purpose to wipe out the identity of Kashmiri people by dividing Kashmir into pieces but she will not succeed in her nefarious designs come what may.
