ISLAMABAD, September 10: A representative delegation of Tehreek-e- Nifaz-e-Fiqah Jafariya Pakistan led by the Secretary Public Relations Hassan Kazmi called on the Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Laal Chand Malhi to express concerns of Maktab e Tashayyo about the Human Rights situation in Pakistan. Besides Hassan Kazmi, Mulana Ijlal Haider-al-Haidery and Zulqarnain Haider Jameel were also part of the TNFJ’s delegation. Mentioning about the undue restrictions on Azadari on this occasion, Hassan Kazmi complained that the administrative authorities have not only lodged FIRs against Majalis e Aza, traditional mourning processions and Azadari programs held inside the four-walls but also arrested innocent Azadars at some places. He further said that government has also banned new programs of Azadari and entry of Ulama and Zakireen to address Majalis e Aza inside the Jails which is equivalent to confiscation of fundamental rights. The TNFJ’s delegation condemned booking innocent and peaceful citizens in Schedule-IV, filing of unjustified blasphemy cases to suppress expression of faith and ideologies, banning and gagging of Ulama and Zakireen in different districts and demanded the authorities to stop prejudice and discriminatory attitude against Maktab e Tashayyo. Highlighting flaws in the Single National Curriculum, the delegation urged the need to eliminate impression of a particular sect from the newly introduced course and implement TNFJ’s recommendations to make it acceptable for all. As per the assurance of article 227 of the constitution, TNFJ stressed to ensure compliance with the principles of Fiqah Jafariya while introducing legislations for the followers of Maktab e Tashayyo. TNFJ termed the participation of proscribed organizations in government’s meetings, conferences besides other important forums and their appointments in state institutions including Council of Islamic Ideology, Muttehida Ulama Board and peace committees to represent sects, as an insult to established schools of thought as well as a clear violation of the National Action Plan and therefore, demanded their urgent dismissal. |
