Stop oppressing peaceful Shia Sunni Azadars of Imam Hussain (A.S); a bigger step to defend constitutional rights will not be avoided if needed - Basharat Imami

ISLAMABAD, July 25: The Secretary General of TNFJ as well as the convener of Central Muharram Committee Azadari Cell Allama Raja Bisharat Hussain Imami has demanded from the government to stop oppressing peaceful Shia Sunni Azadars of Imam Hussain (A.S). A bigger step to defend constitutional rights will not be avoided if needed. Confrontation against Hussainiyat eliminates governments. Azadars arrested across Pakistan including TNFJ Islamabad’s President Raja Zulfiqar Ali and those detained in Gilgit, Laki Marwat, and Punjab must be immediately released. Kashmir’s freedom movement gets revived during Muharram. Excuses of oppression must not be offered to India by banning Azadari programs in Pakistan. Prime Minister, Army Chief, Chief Justice of Pakistan and Asif Zardari and other government allies must take notice of the discriminatory behavior against Maktab e Tashayyo and Shia Sunni Azadars. The world is chanting Hussain Hussain but the seeds nurtured through Martial laws are trying to suck out Hussainiyat from the veins of the nation. Like previous government, certain elements are putting the existing government on the unconstitutional path of confrontation against Hussainiyat. Government must abide by the Moosavi-Junejo agreement. Music, dance parties, and worship of minorities is allowed inside the four-walls however, the Zikr of Holy Prophet’s (PBUH&HP) grandson is banned. Arresting Majalis organizers and treating them like terrorists is a clear violation of Human rights. Muharram Azadari control rooms be formed. Ahl e Sunnah Azadars are being stopped from cooking niaz and installing sabeels of drinking water. In Karbala, millions of Azadars chanting Ya Hussain (A.S) while holding holy Quran in their hands is a slap on the face of Islamophobia. Issues related to Darbar Bari Imam and Sakhi Mehmood must be resolve in accordance with the Shia Auqaf. Moosavi-Junejo agreement must be followed to resolve any possible issues related to Azadari while Muharram Azadari Control Rooms must be established at Federal, provincial including Gilgit Baltistan and then connected to TNFJ’s Muharram Committee Azadari Cell. There exists no Shia-Sunni conflict in Pakistan and we’ll never allow any. The Code of Azadari of TNFJ provides guarantee for peace and harmony. He said this while addressing to a Press Conference along with Ulama e Karam and members of TNFJ at Islamabad Press Club. Allama Bisharat Imami said that we did not abandon Zikr e Hussain (A.S) even in firing bullets and suicide bomb blasts. How can we abandon it because of unconstitutional restrictions? At a time when the world is chanting Hussain Hussain, people of different nationalities and even different religions are vowing to associate with Hussainiyat to be able to crush oppression and tyranny but the situation is opposite in Pakistan. He said that during Martial laws attempts were made to deprive people of Pakistan from Hussainiyat. In the same efforts, Zia ul Haq amended the Police Act to reduce Zikr e Hussain behind the walls of Imambargahs however, Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi stood against him and started an eight-months long Hussaini Mahaz agitation that concluded at the signing of Moosavi-Junejo agreement which provides guarantees for the protection of religious processions, religious freedom and Zikr e Hussain (A.S). Processions of Meelad and Azadari found protection in the form of Moosavi-Junejo Agreement. However, martial lawed ideologies were promoted and a situation is created where the Muharram is considered as a month of danger. Bans are announced on Zakireen, Majalis organizers are restricted whereas the programs of Lahw o Laab continue throughout the year which badly hurt the feelings of Muslims. He said that the last government lodged thousands of FIRs to suppress Zikr e Hussain (A.S) held inside Imambargahs and houses. Tehreek e Nafaz e Fiqah Jafariya rejected these unconstitutional, inhuman, and unjust restrictions and staged symbolic protest on 25th of Rajab i.e. 27th Feb 2022 as the first step against Imran Khan’s government during which Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi had made it clear on the government that the hypocrisy of Bani Ummyads in the name of Medini state will not be accepted. Agha Moosavi had also made it clear that those involved in confrontation against Hussianyat are doomed, and then everyone saw what happend. Allama Imami said that unfortunately, the government changed but the administration is still stuck with older SOPs which is again making the government and law confront against Hussainiyat. He said that several Majalis and Jaloos in Punjab are being stopped under the excuse that they are not registered in government schedule. Majalis organizers are roaming around along with the records of their programs but the authorities are unwilling to listen to anything. Ladies Majalis and mourning programs inside the houses are also being stopped which is a clear violation of fundamental human rights. Allama Bisharat Imami said that TNFJ Islambad’s president Raja Zulfiqar Ali has been arrested under MPO-3 only because he peacefully protested against these human rights violations. Scores of Azadars were booked in false FIRs for protesting peacefully while at the same time, a proscribed organization brought out processions in favor of a holiday announcement but the law remained unmoved. In Chehlumndas Gilgit Baltistan, more than a dozen young boys were arrested on installing Alam e Mubarak inside their house. On the other hand more than five people of the same family were arrested in Laki Marwat for holding a Majlis inside their house. Similar reports are being received from rest of the country also. Allama Bisharat Imami said that we are peaceful people and never take law in our hands. The code of Azadari announced by the Chief of TNFJ Allama Hussain Muqaddasi in accordance with Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi that is also published in today’s newspapers, assures peace and harmony all across. We will insha Allah abide by this code of Azadari. We are the preachers of peace and flagbearers of unity however, for us, restriction on Azadari is like death. He demanded that Maktab e Tashayyo must not be cornered in the country as our blood runs in the foundation of Pakistan. We defended this country by our blood, we offered countless sacrifices to counter terrorism. Allama Bisharat Imami appealed to the government to not distort Pakistan’s image. He said that Muharram Control rooms were established by the Benazir Bhutto’s government on the demand of Tehreek e Nifaz e Fiqh e Jafariya which used to stay connected with TNFJ’s Muharram Committee Azadari Cell to resolve problems faced by Azadars and Majlis organizers. However, we have not been informed about any of the government’s control room till date. We demand from the government to establish Muharram Control rooms and connect them with TNFJ’s Muharram Committee Azadari Cell. Allama Imami also demanded to restore the sacred items and board of the shrine of Sultan ul Fuqaraa Hazrat Bari Imam (R.A) in the same form as they were before the new construction of the shrine. He also demanded to form a commission to stop unjust division of the land associated with the shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Mehmood Badshah and urged to resolve the problems of shrines in accordance with Shia Auqaf.
