In connection with the Day of Destruction of Jannatul Baqee 8 Shawal 1434 Hijra


The faith is expressed through deeds and real faith is the love and devotion with the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH & HHP) and his pious progeny (PBUT), which has the obligation to be happy in their happiness and adopt mourning in their grief. There is a saying of a senior scholar that whatever has been bestowed on Muhammad (PBUH & HHP) and Aal-e-Muhammad (PBUT) by Allah that are their Fazail and Manaqib and whatever the nation has given to them are stories of sufferings and atrocities and brutality. One of these atrocities committed against the holy progeny of the Holy Prophet (PBUT) is the destruction of their holy shrines in Jannat ul Baqee and Jannat ul Moallah on 8th Shawaal. The Muslim nation is forced to ponder over that which is that Islam that preaches to root out the signs of founders of Islam and benefactors of the religion and Sharia. . .? How and when does this thinking began and who initiated it and why. . . ? And what is the scenario of Qubbah and graves and shrines in Islam. . . ? It is necessary to answer these natural questions cropping up in the minds of common Muslims therefore a Special Message of the Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi is produced below that carries detailed reply along with arguments so that the faithful could benefit from its to strengthen their faith.

Sha’air is the plural of Sha’aeerah which means symbol or sign. Like in war a Sha’air (particular word as a symbol) is adopted that help recognize one another, likewise Sha’air Allah are those Alaim of religion of Islam that establish distinction and identity of a Muslim and he is thus identified separately from followers of other religions. The hill-tops of Safa and Marwa were also declared Sha’air Allah for the reason that Muslims perform Sa’aee there during Hajj and Umrah. Other Hajj rites here, sacrifice of animals in particular, is also called Sha’air Allah. The meaning of their respect is ‘Istehsaan’ and ‘Istismaan’ i.e. sacrificing best and healthy. This respect has been declared as Taqwa of heart i.e. from those deeds of the heart the basis of which is Taqwa. (Holy Quran along with translation and interpretation Shah Fahd Quran Kareem Printing Complex). Therefore, it is established that the Holy Quran declares the respect of Sha’air Allah as a symbol of Taqwa of heart and Sha’air Allah means symbols and signs of the religion that include Bait Allah, Masjid-e-Nabavi, Hajr-e-Aswad, Safa and Marwa, Arafat, Masha’ar, Mina and those camels that are sacrificed in Hajj. Similarly, Anbia, Aulia, Swaleheen are also Sha’air Allah who preached the religion of Islam and never hesitated in offering sacrifices for its protection, their respect is like respecting the Sha’air Allah. There is permissibility of respect in religion and Sharia i.e. it is permissible. Respect, wherever it comes from, the Sharia does not stop it, therefore respect is given to Anbia and the pious men of Allah rather buildings and Rozas and Qubah-e-Munawwarah are built on their shrines. That is why it had been the seerat of Muslims to place a sign for recognition of graves since the era of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) i.e. they used to construct it in a way. Therefore it is proved through the aditions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) and history (Sunan Ibne Majah, edition 1, page 498). Anas says that the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) has put a stone on the grave of Usman Bin Mazaoon as a sign. (Sunan Ibne Daud, edition 2, page 69). That Matlab says that when Usman Bin Mazaoon died, the people brought his funeral out and buried him, then the Paighambar (PBUH & HHP) ordered a person to bring a stone, that person could not carry that stone, on which the Paighamber rose up himself and took that stone and placed it near the grave of Usman Bin Mazaoon and said, this I have placed on the grave of my brother as a sign. Whoever from my family will die, I will bury him besides him. (Tabqaat Ibne Sa’ad, edition 3, page 397). Abu Bakar Bin Muhammad says that I had seen the grave of Usman Bin Mazaoon, a high article was placed near his grave, in other words it was the sign of that grave. (Wafae Al-Wafa, edition 3, page 914). Ibne Shahab says that the the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) had placed a cropped stone near the grave of Usman Bin Mazaoon as a sign but when Amir Muawia appointed Marwan Bin Hakim as Governor of Madinah, then Marwan got that stone lifted from the grave of Hazrat Usman Bin Mazaoon and placed it on the grave of Hazrat Usman Bin Affan (R.A).

When the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) left this world, his holy body was buried in his House. Walls and Saqaf was present in that Hujra. Similarly the bodies of Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A.) and Hazrat Omar (R.A.) were also buried in that Hujra. Had the making or constructing a building on grave was illegal then the Muslims of that era would have never buried the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) and Shaikhain in the Hujra. It does not make any difference that if a building exists first or is constructed after wards, in any two cases presence of the building on the grave is sign of respect. Then the era that came after the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP), this Hujra was left in the same condition. So much so that when came the era of Omar Bin Abdel Aziz, a wall of that Hujra caved in and it was reconstructed on the orders of Omar Bin Abdel Aziz (Tabqaat Ibne Sa’ad, edition 2, page 307).

Palestine was conquered in the era of Khalifate of Hazrat Omar Bin Khatab. The graves of Hazrat Ibrahim Khalil-e-Khuda, Hazrat Yaqoob who is called Israel, Hazrat Yousuf S/o Yaqoob, Hazrat Dawood, Hazrat Sulaiman in Palestine were remained intact with respect and honour. Hazrat Omar offered his prayers in the church situated in a corner of the Bait Al-Lahm and declared it a mosque and ordered those people to clean it and enlighten it and in its corner were the graves of Hazrat Dawood and Hazrat Sulaiman (Mojam Al-Baldaan, edition 1, page 522).

When the Wisaal of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) uncle Hazrat Abbas Bin Abdul Muttalib took place, he was buried in the home of Hazrat Aqeel Ibne Abu Talib (PBUH) (Wafa Al-Wafa, edition 3, page 893). Similarly, from the holy family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP), the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Fatima (PBUH), Hazrat Imam Hassan Ibne Ali (PBUH), Hazrat Ali Ibne Al-Hussain Imam Zainul Abideen (PBUH), Muhammad Ibne Ali (PBUH), Hazrat Imam Baqar (PBUH) and Hazrat Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq (PBUH) are also buried in the home of Hazrat Aqeel and prior to that the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH & HHP) son Hazrat Ibrahim was also buried in the home of Muhammad Bin Zaid (Wafa Al-Wafa, edition 3, page 910) and Sa’ad Bin Ma’az was buried in the home of Ibne Afluj and Qubah was also present over it (Wafa Al-Wafa, edition 3).

After going through the historic books and Ahadees-e-Mubarika it become crystal clear that in every era from the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH & HHP) to the Usmania Khalifate buildings used to be constructed on the graves of Anbia, Aulia, A’aimma Huda, Sahab Kubaar, Tabaeen, Taba Tabaeen and people carried out these deeds in those eras and this act was considered respect of the Anbia and Swaleheen. But on 10 Rabiul Awwal, 661 Hijra, 22 January, 1263 A.H. a personality was born in Haraan (that is at present situated in Turkey near the frontiers with Syria who carries out his journey to Damascus in 667 Hijra and gets his education there. That person was Hanbli by faith and his name was Sharif Taqi-ud-Din Abu Al-Abbas Al-Nemeiri Al-Harani who earned fame by the name of Ibne Teemia and died on 20 Zeeqa’ad 708 Hijra in jail and he was buried there (Syria) in Al-Soofia Mausoleum. He was the first person who cut out a new ideology keeping away from the beliefs of not only Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafa’aee but from that of Imam Ahmed Ibne Hanbal who the Imam of that Maslak and that ideology was stopping from the Ziarat of Anbia and Swaleheen, attaching with them and against the Qubah and graves. On the basis of this belief of his, he was put in jail and he saw his end in that jail. The pupil of Ibne Teemia i.e. Shamsuddin Ibne Al-Qeem Al-Jozia remained in the forefront of forwarding this belief but this new ideology died after sometime.

Ibne Teemia is the person who stated about the Maula-e-Kainaat Hazrat Ali Ibne Talib (PBUH) that only two Ahadees came in honour of Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH) while the Ibne Teemia’s Imam and elder Imam Ibne Hanbal says that there are so much Ahadees that came in the honour of Amirul Momineen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH) that are not found in honour of anyone else and why not, Hazrat Ali (PBUH) is that personality who has the honour and distinction that he (Hazrat Ali (PBUH) opened his eyes in the lap of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) and the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) eyes were closed in the lap of Ali (PBUH). The Fazail-e-Manaqib of the Imam Al-Muttaqeen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH) are uncountable but what to do with enmity and hypocrisy . . . ! Unfortunate people fond of razing to ground, wiping out and destructing Sha’air Allah were also present earlier like Abraha who set out to raze to ground, wipe out and destruct Bait Allah on which the Surah 105 of Holy Quran stands witness. (How thy Lord dealt with the companions of the elephants? Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray? And He sent against them flights of birds, striking them with stones of baked clay. Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, [Of which the corn] has been eaten up). In post-Islam era, Banu Ummayad and Banu Abbas also tried their utmost to wipe out the holy shrine of the grandson of the Holy Prophet, Imam Hussain (PBUH) but who can decrease the honour and dignity of the one whose honour is dear to Allah

After Ibne Teemia, another person Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab borns in Aaeenia City of Najad in 1115 Hijra, his father Shaikh Abdul Wahab was the Qazi of this city. He received initial education from his father who was considered from amongst the big Ulema of Maktab-e-Hanbli. He accepted the effects of Ibne Teemia’s ideology. Once after the Ziarat of Bait Allah when he reached Madina Munawwarah, he saw people were praying through mediation (Tawassal), he refused mediation. Later, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab remained in Basra for some time and started preaching against the construction of Qubah and shrines, Ziarat of shrines and mediation but could not satisfy the objections and reservations of the people and decided to go to the city of Zubair in nervousness and could not bear the severe heat and pains of the journey. A personality there not only exhausted his thirst but also provided him with the travelling facility. Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab wanted to go to Damascus from there but owing to some reason, gave up this thought and set out to the city of Ahsah. In 1139 Hijra, his father Abdul Wahab had shifted to Hareemlah. Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab also reached there, studied a few more books and started confrontation against Muslim beliefs. He entangled with his father also many times and created a rift with him, his father was against his beliefs. In 1153 Hijra, his father died (Summary from History of Najad Aaloosi, pages 111 to 113). With the death of his father, obstacle in his way was removed and his preaching in Hareemlah started giving fruit. He again came to Aaeenia where he was greatly honoured by the chief of that city but owing to pressure from some personalities he was banished from Aaeenia. In 1160, he went to Dareeah and chief of Dareeah was Muhammad Bin Saud. He not only adopted the beliefs of Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab rather he cooperated with him extensively. Relations started developing between the families of Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab and Muhammad Bin Saud. Dareeah City was hit by poverty and hunger but after a few days it was replete with gold and silver Dirhams and Deenars, and the followers of Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab started bulging up. Those who did not accept his beliefs were used to be treated like atheists and he used to take over their wealth, make their women as Kaneez and men as slaves. Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab died in 1206 Hijra and after his death, his beliefs started bulging up further and in 1216 Hijra, chief of Aaeenia prepared an army of 20 thousand and attacked Karbala and Najaf-e-Ashraf, people was massacres and they were involved in looting spree.

Owing to the evil beliefs and ideologies of this group today the world is forced to say that Islam is a frozen religion that does not fulfill tall norms of humanity and there are reservations and objections on terming Islam as the constitution of life. Ulema-e-Islam of 57 Islamic States consider these beliefs and ideologies as evil and consider the same contrary to the religion and Shariat and seerat of Muslims. Aal-e-Saud laid the foundation of their government on the ideas of Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab and Abu Al-Abbas Ibne Teemia. First of all Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab’s brother Sulaiman Bin Abdul Wahab wrote a book against his ideologies and plenty of books were also written by Hanafi, Shafa’aee, Maliki ulema. The chain of razing the shrines to ground started in 1221 Hijra. But then came the era of Khalifate Usmania. They drove out the followers of evil ideologies of Ibne Teemia and Shaikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab out of the city and the Khalifate-II constructed the shrines anew and also ensured their dignity and sanctity. Then in 1924 such a bad time had come when international colonial and atheist powers that ended the Usmania Khalifate and adopting the policy of divide the conscienceless wealthy Arabs and rule, the area was divided into many areas and separate chiefs for these areas were appointed. The region of Najad was handed over to Aal-e-Saud and their government was made stronger to strongest. And what happened then that the people of holiest cities of Makkah and Madina were made target of aggression and thousands of people were killed under the supervision of international colonialist Britain. And in this way Aal-e-Saud trampled and destructed the holy graveyards of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah in 1344 Hijra and destructed the signs of Nabuwwat and Risalat so much so that all Islamic books of A’aimma Arba’a and Maktab-e-Tashih were set on fire and in the name of extension to the place of Nimaz, converted the holy places into a rubble. This activity is still going on but the Muslim Ummah is silent. We are not against extension but it could be carried out even by keeping the dignity of holy places and signs intact the example of which are Muqaam-e-Ibrahim and other signs in Bait Allah which are present in their real condition.

Here one thing has to be kept in mind that these holy places are the enlightened minarets of knowledge and cognition for the world of humanity, therefore it is necessary to keep them intact so that the coming generation could derive more guidance and Taqwa of hearts from these holy places. Allah Has sent one lakh and twenty-four thousand Nabis but names of only 26 are found in the Holy Quran. Had the previous nations saved the names of places of all Anbia then the coming generation of humanity would have enlightened themselves with more knowledge and cognition of Allah. Thus . . . ! if we also continued wiping out the signs of shrines of Sahaba and Ahle Bait (PBUH) then how could the coming generation get the benefit from these enlightened minarets . . . ? The house of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari has also been razed to ground. Had the Islamic World not raised the voice of protest then the shrines of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) and the that of Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A.) and Hazrat Omar (R.A.) buried along with him would also been razed to ground. Today the international colonial powers were again using the same Empire against the Muslim Ummah with full thunder that had bulldozed the holy shrines and mausoleums in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah.

A few Muslim States were destructed before the 9/11 incident and after the 9/11 Afghanistan, Iraq, Tunis, Libya, Yemen, Egypt and now Syria are the target of satanicism where massacre of Muslims is going on while the holy places are also not safe. The Roza of Fateh-e-Kufa and Shaam Hazrat Zainab Binte Ali Ibne Abi Talib (S.A.), Mazar Sharif in Afghanistan, shrine of Imam Abu Hanifa in Iraq, and the shrines of Khalifa-tul-Muslimeen Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH), Nawasa-e-Rasool Imam Hussain (PBUH), Imam Al-Askareen, Kazmain Sharifain were also trampled and a few weeks ago, the shrines of Nawasi-e-Rasool Hazrat Zainab Binte Ali (PBUH), and Sahaba Kubaar Hazrat Hajr Bin Adi (R.A.), Muqaam-e-Ibrahim (PBUH), Muqaam-e-Zakaria (PBUH) and shrines of Khalid Bin Waleed (R.A.), Ammar Yasir (R.A.), Hazrat Owais Qarni (R.A.) in Syria have been targeted with missiles. In terrorism going on in Pakistan that came into being in the name of Islam, the international chief of terrorists and her agents are involved. From villages to federal capital, no institution, no person is safe, Imabargahs, mosques, Khanqahs have been targeted. In 56 Muslim States out of 56 leaving Saudi Arabia apart, all shrines of the pious personalities of Islam and Swaleheen exit rather the shrines of the political personalities also exist and are safe like in Pakistan, mazars of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and others exist. But alas! No one is ready to raise voice against the destruction, razing to ground and desecration of holy shrines in Jannat ul Baqee and Jannat ul Moallah . . . ? the Muslim nation, OIC, Arab League, it seems, have struck dumb when it was imperative to speak. Where are the United Nations, ICC, organisations protecting the human rights and UNESCO at present . . . ? If idols present in Bamyan area of Afghanistan are scaled down then all satanic powers cry wolf but why they all are silent on the destruction of shrines of the the pious personalities of Islam. . . ? The holy shrines of Hazrat Adam Khalifat Ullah, Hazrat Noah Naji Ullah, Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Hajira, other Anbia and that of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) are present. What is the enmity with the pious companions, Ahle Bait (PBUT) and Swaleheen that shrines in the Jannat ul Baqee and Jannatul Mohallah have been destructed. We strongly demand from all international organisations to get the honour and dignity of these holy places restored and get them reconstructed and the international colonial powers and their agents should be driven out from the Muslim States where they are committing aggression and complete protection should be extended to the holy places. Otherwise, we will be justified to understand that these so-called human rights champions and international organisations keep double standard and there is duplicity in their words and deeds.

The Muslim nation demands that Makkah and Madinah may be declared as international cities and all holy places may be declared the combined heritage of the world humanity. There is no coercion in the religion. We have shown both ways whether someone becomes a thankful person or adopts atheism but no one has the right to impose his ideologies on others. One can preach his ideologies but could not impose the same by coercion. The obligation of Anbia (PBUH) also had been to preach and not to get it imposed. Who these people are who desire to impose their beliefs on others . . . ? This trend is a heinous conspiracy against Islam, religion and Shariat and the Muslim Ummah would have to unite to thwart the same. Keep in mind that the international protest on Youm-e-Inhidaam Jannatul Baqee is not against any particular person, family, Maktab or countries, our protest is against oppression, brutality, suppression, and international satan and permission for protest has been given by Holy Quran. The first Ayah of the sixth Parah stands witness that an oppressed can raise his voice against oppression. And according to Holy Quran and seerat of Muhammad (PBUH & HHP) and Aal-e-Muhammad (PBUT) Ziaraat and Aemaal on the holy shrines are the source of reward on which may Ahadees stand witness. (Kitaab Wafa Al-Wafa, edition 3). Abu Jafar says that Fatima Zehra (PBUH) used to perform Ziarat of Hazrat Hamza and also used to carry out construction of the shrine and amendments in it and used to fix a sign through a stone. (Sunan Dar-e-Qatni, edition 2, page 278). There is a saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) that who will perform Ziarat of my grave will go to heaven. My intercession will be binding for him. (Sunan Behaqi, edition 5, page 276). Abdullah Ibne Omar says that the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) said that one who performs Hajj and Ziarat of my grave, heaven is binding on him. Similarly, carrying out journey for graves has been termed as a source of great Sawaab and Mustahib on which Ahadees-e-Nabavi stand witness. It is on this basis, that Ziarat of these holy shrines unveils the veils from the hearts of the ignorant and invites people to ponder over death and the Hereafter. Whereas this act becomes a source of nearing Allah it also provides chance for human existence and these are the Ziaraat that enlighten the candles of awareness, knowledge and cognition that what were the holy objectives and goals of the men of Allah and Hadiyan-e-Islam were so that we can make our world and the Hereafter better by following those objective and emerge successful and victorious.

Through raising the voice of protest for the restoration of holy shrines and Rozajaat of the Mashaheer-e-Islam in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah we present condolences in Bargah-e-Ismat and Taharat of the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet, the leader of the women of all world, Hazrat Fatima Al-Zahra (PBUH) with this faith and belief that:
